Yoga & Stretching

I went to the gym this morning to try out a yoga class. And ya know what, I didn't love it. In fact, I was itching to ditch it and go over to my spin class, where I usually spend my Tuesday mornings. I was craving a higher calorie burn, but I stuck it out with the yogis only to avoid being rude.

It got me thinking, though, how sometimes we try something once and we don't love it and we make our judgment based on that one experience. Because I've done plenty of other yoga classes that I've really liked, even hot yoga! The setting and the instructor can really make a difference on your experience. So don't write something off just because you don't like it the first time around. Experiment a little and you may find you actually like it. How sad if this had been my first yoga class and I never went again!

I've been really enjoying the stretching for this week's challenge. My hope was to have everyone find the time to stretch, to quiet the mind and focus on the body. For that reason, I chose to do my stretching right before bed and I found a video that's perfect for a good nighttime stretch. Every time I've done a different video, I've wished I was doing the other one. So here's the link below. I like having the time to focus my body and mind, and the increase in flexibility. It's been a good habit that I'd like to continue. How about you?

  1. I'm now Doing yoga stretching at the end of my routine. I really like the feeling of it.
